About Institution

The College of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Kaduna (CPESK), is a premier tertiary institution established by the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) to enhance indigenous human capacity for the oil and gas industry. Following Federal Executive Council’s approval, physical developments commenced in 2009 with the award of various contracts under Building, Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Services.

Importantly, the College is a fully registered institution and licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the National Universities Commission (NUC) to deliver postgraduate degree programmes (MSc and PhD). This is in addition to its collaboration with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited towards delivering Continuing Professional Development (CPD), Talent Management (TM) and Career Progression (CP) training programmes. Vocational Training Programmes for the development of skilled manpower for the oil and gas industry will also be delivered at the College. The College is also expected to serve as a platform for the domestication of the Fund’s overseas scholarship and training of stakeholders. Additionally, the establishment of the College is aimed at increasing employability of Nigerians within the petroleum industry locally and beyond. The concept is to provide a platform where theory and practice would meet to provide skills and research-based solutions to Oil and Gas Industry’s current and future challenges.
